Suspect in Ambalangoda Double Murder Surrenders, Remanded

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect wanted in connection with the double murder in the Urawatta area of Ambalangoda has been remanded until March 7th.

The suspect surrendered to the police through a lawyer and was subsequently presented to the Balapitiya Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (25).

The incident, which occurred on November 10th last year, involved the shooting of a man and a woman traveling on a motorcycle by two unidentified individuals also on a motorcycle.

The suspect remanded is believed to have been the driver of the getaway vehicle used by the perpetrators.

The suspect is a resident of Polhunnawa, Batapola. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the shooters involved in the crime.
